My life centers around finding and appreciating the colors around me…well, that and watching The Office incessantly with my dogs. These may seem like competing goals, but I believe that laughter and color make the world come alive. They certainly make me feel alive. I’ve closely studied color my entire life - from childhood watching Disney movies and witnessing the vivid characters come to life in front of my eyes, to spending my adolescence painting and studying fine art, to young-adulthood attending an art college for 4 years in NYC for film photography, to running a business focused on documenting monumental memories in a couple’s life together.

I have physical reactions to color every day. I live in the mountains of Pennsylvania, surrounded by acres of green fields and saturated neutrals that make me feel at peace. Every time I look at my husband, I see the glow of his amber eyes and the richness of his auburn hair (gaining more flecks of gray every day) and I feel love. Each morning, I run my fingers over the golden-red and soft-white fur of my two Golden Retrievers and I feel happy.

But I also find beauty in the raw, rough-around-the-edges pieces of my life—the muddy puddles on our 25 acres (we have quite a lot of those), my sarcastic wit and rather…colorful vocabulary (the hallmarks of a true genius?), and the ever-present dog hair that you can find in every corner of my house (worth it). Everything in our lives adds up to the colorful, messy, real people we are.

It’s this attention to color and passion for documenting such emotional memories that has brought me into wedding photography. Being so concentrated on color, I’m able to tell the story of a wedding day the way it actually looked in real life and how it felt to be there. My photographs show you real, genuine emotion, and help you remember the day as it actually happened.

Did you know that our memories are in color? Close your eyes and think about your favorite toy when you were younger. I bet the first thing you remember is what color it was. I remember mine, it was an American Girl doll with a red satin dress, deep blue eyes, and rich chestnut hair…that I remember cutting off and keeping in a bedside drawer. You know, normal sane kid stuff.

Colors give our past dimension, our history life. So when I photograph your wedding—the day you want to remember with as much vivid detail as possible—I photograph the colors. I photograph the feelings.
